 Yesterday I was able to get less than half of my list of healing scriptures posted. Every time I tried to put something on this sight the computer locked. About five hours of fighting with no success I decided to cut my losses and start another blog. You can find the whole list at the new blog.

Fighting for healing (pt 2)

Psalm 107:17, 19-21
17 Fools, because of their transgression,
And because of their iniquities, were afflicted.
19 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
And He saved them out of their distresses.
20 He sent His word and healed them,
And delivered them from their destructions.
21 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!

Psalm 118:17 I shall not die, but live,
And declare the works of the Lord.

Proverbs 4:20-24
20 My son, give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes;
Keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them,
And health to all their flesh.
23 Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life.
24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth,
And put perverse lips far from you.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Isaiah 53:4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

Jeremiah 1:12 Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.”

Jeremiah 17:14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed;
Save me, and I shall be saved,
For You are my praise.

Jeremiah 30:17 For I will restore health to you
And heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord,
‘Because they called you an outcast saying:
“This is Zion;
No one seeks her.”’

Joel 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords
And your pruning hooks into spears;
Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’”

Fighting for healing (pt 1)

It has been a long time since I have blogged. For one reason I was doing some work on the book on Journaling from the Christian viewpoint. I also was reading a book by Wendy Alek and that consumed a lot of time. I also was not feeling well. It turns out though everyone looked at me saw little use of the left side and said stroke. It was not a stroke but MS. I spent six years without the proper medication because of an improper diagnosis.

I am attacking the problem in a way I know works, with healing scriptures. I first heard of this years ago and even did a major study on healing scriptures. In time I will combine those with these. Many of them I heard referenced in assorted sermons some I got by simply referencing a concordance or commentary.

I will start with the ones my husband copied and printed out for me. From a book put out by the Copeland ministry named “Healing and Wellnesss a 10-Day Spiritual Action Plan” It has messages from both Kenneth & Gloria Copeland in writing, CD’s of music and scripture and a DVD with a teaching and testimonies. I will be posting the scriptures first from their list, then from scriptures sent by someone on one of the prayer lists. These will be listed in NKJV

Exodus15:26 “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”

Exodus 23:25-26 “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. 26No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.”

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; 20that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

1 Kings 8:56“Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses.

Psalm 91:9-10, 14-16
9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
15 I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

Psalm 103:1-5
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

In Or Out Of The Light

Believers, Trees No Comments

Outside of the kitchen window is a place where most of the trees were cut eight years ago. Well the roots of most of the trees were still there and they had started putting up small shoots soon after they were cut. It is now nearly eight years later. Three trees were saved in the backyard. On one side of the remaining old trees the new growth, loblolly pines, are about 15 feet tall; on the other side they are about ten feet tall. This is a natural function of sunlight the trees blocked the sun and the bigger trees on one side got more sun than the smaller trees on the other side.
The same kinds of growth can happen in an individual. Some of us are stunted trees that do not take in as much of God’s light. Then there are those tall and rich with good height and healthy needles. These are the ones who receive a rich full diet of spiritual things, prayer, study, and heavenly rain. In the world of the trees the ones with the full light are heather.
If you value your spiritual growth you must get out of the shadows of fear, self-doubt, laziness. A day without God is like a day without sunshine. You need good soil, natural light and rain.

Recent Events (Giving Up Grieving)

family, funeral, marriage No Comments

I last blogged back in January we have had a lot of computer problems, they will be fixed Wednesday.  Also since my last post my 92 year old mother died. The grief for that is a strange thing. I last saw her about two years ago. It had gotten so she could not even recognize her own children. It is the saddest thing in the world when an old person’s mind is gone but the body keeps on going.

The theme for the month is to give up something. I don’t know if I will stick to theme all month but to start. I am going to give up trying to grieve for my mother as the world does. I had actually done that a couple of years ago when she stopped knowing who I was.

I keet thinking she and dad were dancing now. I never actually saw them dancing, theirs was a private love. But it was long lasting love. If dad has lived eight more days they would have reached their Sixtieth wedding anniversary. Very few couples manage to stay married even a third of that amount of time most of today’s marriages are a couple of years then move on to the next partner.

When Mario and I got married we were given a plaque we have in the living room.

Marriage Takes Three
by Beth Stuckwick
Marriage takes three to be complete;
It’s not enough for two to meet.
They must be united in love
By love’s Creator, God above.
A marriage that follows God’s plan
Takes more than a woman and man.
It needs a oneness that can be
Only from Christ– marriage takes three.

Satellite Connections

computer situations No Comments

It has been several days since I have posted a blog. I am not sure I will get to post this one today. we have a satellite internet connection and an inconveniently placed tree there has been a lot of wind lately and the tree keeps shifting into the line of sight to the satellite. The connection has been as stable as the wind.           Sadly it is better than either of the dial-up servers were. Oh you did not have so much time they were not available but you have to wait so long to get anywhere without the high speed internet. I want to be able to use the satellite system to do the downloads and watch church services etc. We lave the lowest level of the satellite connection.

I am trying to get some things written daily again.

For the first time I have been able to blog in several days weather has played havoc with the satellite internet. I have also been working hard on my book. Yes, it’s back to that. I have not given up.

I Didn’t Have A Paper Trail

Goverment, attitude, writing No Comments

Mario, has been getting after me to apply for disability again. My social security benefits were denied the first one. One of the worst things the first time was a lack of a paper trail I got my paper trail and accurate dating by looking through all the packets from H&R Block. Year by year receipt by receipt there can be a paper trail. I now feel that I can actually do this. I have been putting everything off because I simply didn’t know the dates and I was afraid I would be caught in a lie when I am simply guessing. I may not have a paper trail on my own but we have carefully kept medical receipts for taxes. There may be hope this time around.

Another place I need a paper trail is my writing. I need to get busy on my book again. I lost my focus when the only person in the critique group I didn’t like was the only one critiquing my work. There was nothing like enough to be a book. I needed more but that will require getting back to it and doing more work. I am planing to do the journaling book on the laptop. It will give me a clear place for the entire work.

He Was Terrified

cats No Comments

We have three cats and they play with anything they can find they were chasing after each other this morning after the lights came on they had found something small brown, and soft looking. I figured they had found a scrap of fabric from the craft room. Christopher poked at it with his paw. The fabric swatch ran toward me. He was a tiny mouse he kind of froze for a second or two then ran between the chair and toolbox into the darkness. Christopher was reaching as far as he could down the track of the mouse. Hover is obviously smarter than I generally give him  credit for he had ducked under the coffee table and was reaching under the chair from the other side. I’m not sure how the mouse got away but coming from both sides the cats had both been outsmarted. While the mouse was frozen with indecision I got a good look at him. He was trembling, as I looked at those beady little eyes I knew that he was terrified. As much as I love my cats I must admit this one time I was routing for the mouse.

Questions from Writing Group

groups, writing No Comments

Even though this was answering one of the questions on one of my writing groups it feels worth posting here. I did put a lot of thought in it.

Tell me about your first ever piece you sent out?

What was your first piece you sent out to be published? My first published piece was a poem called “Goldfinch” if you like you can find a copy in the “Archives” section of my webpage

Do you remember what motivated you to write it? I had an appointment to get my car inspected, it was Jerry’s first appointment of the day and he was running late. I had my tape player and my favorite tape, “Bach By The Beach” and of course my journal.  I was in a parking space near the retaining wall holding back the strip of weeds between the factory and his car lot. Right in front of my car less than a car length away I got a close look of a goldfinch demolishing a thistle. I was less than a car length in front of me and obviously not concerned about the music or the company.

What kind of piece was it in–what area? Back then I was only writing poems, I hardly ever write a poem anymore.

Did it take you long to do it? How long? The appointment was at 9 AM Jerry was about 30 min late. The inspection took about 20 min and the poem was basically done then. That was two or three revisions before the edition posted.

Was it rejected or published? The newspaper did publish it with an honorable mention. I did not win the contest. I expected everything I sent out after that to be published, I know better now.

How did you make that first piece a priority? The bird was there and he really did need to be written about. I did not expect to submit the poem or even show it to anyone.

Did God tell you to write it? Probably, but not to the extent he would do it today.
